Activity Description:
1. A whole school assembly was held to raise awareness about the impact of improper waste disposal. This was done showing a documentary about waste disposal and management strategies used around the world.
2. Students researched biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste and created posters to create awareness about proper waste disposal and recycling. They identified polluted areas around their school and placed labelled trash bins for biodegradable and non-biodegradable wastes (plastics). Selected Students then conducted a sensitization programme to educate other students on the usage of the labelled trash bins. This activity was held to commemorate the world environment day - 5th of June 2024.
3. Students collected non-biodegradable wastes from the labelled trash bins and processed them for recycling into new products - aesthetic products (trees, flower vases, flowers among others) for school decorations. This was also done to commemorate the international recycling day held on 17th May 2024.
4. For a wider reach, findings and conclusions were shared with our partner school (Podar international school, India).

Aims:
Outcomes
